GROUP CALLS FOR RONALD MCDONALD TO BE RETIRED

Forex News Trading Traders on the Foreign Exchange market

So, we have the food police calling for the retirement of Ronald McDonald. How about we retire a few of the clowns in Congress first.

The folks behind this latest attack on McDonalds, Corporate Accountability International "Food" group, appears to consist mostly of those for small organic farms, local restaurants, and no corporate food advertising. These are the same people opposed to bottled water. Their big claim to fame is getting G.E. out of the nuclear weapons business (like that is a growth industry).

If this is all the Corporate Accountability International can find to spend money on, perhaps their "non-profit" status should be examined. What a ridiculous way for them to spend money! Fire Ronald? That would be like Disney firing Micky Mouse or Donald Duck. What is wrong with these people? To set your organization up as having the right to tell McDonald's what to sell is the height of presumptuousness - and is hardly the way to spend money if you are set up as a 501C corporation. That was hardly the intent of the non-profit laws.

People sure like to mind other people's business--Meat, bread, and potatoes are not junk food--toys are fun--and our streets are not littered with the bodies of children dead from eating at McDonald's--nor will they ever be--such folk are called coercive utopianists--and they are 100% convinced that they and they alone know the true way.

OK, I'm ranting now. I'm sick of these "Consumer Advocates" who, without my consent, say they represent me. At least members of Congress have the notion that I had some sort of voice in their election, but organizations such as this one take action and say it is on my behalf.

They do not advocate for me, or my children. Their actions only make people's lives worse and attempt to reduce freedoms. Their actions punish everybody because some people are too stupid to keep from harming themselves. I will be purchasing McDonald's tonight just to spite you.

If some busybodies are so worried about what a free enterprise is doing, maybe they should put up the money to buy shares for the privilege of voting on how its run. These companies are not public utilities, and people need to butt out and ...mind their own business. What other people choose to purchase and eat is none of their business.

I rarely do purchase fast food. But, what I choose to purchase and eat is none of their business. So, basically, I say to these nanny wannabes: you've got no skin in the game to tell me what to eat, or what marketing I choose to accept or ignore from any commercial enterprise.

Why don't these busy bodies leave McDonald's alone and be a parent to their kids. Stop depending on other people and other groups to raise your children. If you do a proper job raising your kids then they can eat McDonald's from time to time with absolutely no harm to anyone.

Parents, if you don't buy, your kids can't eat it.

Ronald McDonald isn't buying the food; the parents take their children out to eat and purchase the Happy Meals. McDonald's offers choices that are lower in fat and healthy alternatives to soda and french fries. Why pick on McDonald's? No one has to purchase a Happy Meal with a toy. Parents can purchase items separate for their children or ask for a toy not to be included in the Happy Meal.

These healthcare professionals should promote nutrition education instead of trying to dictate corporate marketing programs.

I think it is ridiculous to target one food company. Calories in, calories out, stop overeating, start exercising. and work on self-control. One plate of Kung Pao chicken is the same as three big Macs and no one targets them. I'm tired of these ethically superior people forcing their opinions on others.

Don't think McDonalds is good for you? Don't eat it. I personally don't eat there but as long as it is in limited quantities and you don't eat till you drop, it is your decision, after all, you are an adult, right? I don't need a nanny and I don't think anyone else does either.

McDonald's is like any other corporation. If something is not producing an acceptable level of profit, they will change it in hopes that it does. It is not up to these doctors nor anyone else to try and dictate how or what this or any other corporation should sell. This will be determined by the demand for the product.
